Boyfriend and Girlfriend Get Lost in Gensokyo

FNF’ X Touhou 2 is a Friday Night Funkin’ crossover mod based on the Touhou Project series.

The story places Boyfriend and Girlfriend in Gensokyo, where musical battles replace the usual Touhou shooting action. The mod contains three weeks of songs, giving it much more content than a short one-track crossover.

The Touhou theme shapes the characters, music, and locations while the gameplay remains based on FNF rhythm battles.

Start With Reimu

Week 1 focuses on a battle with Reimu Hakurei.

The songs include Love Consultation, Colorful Path, Red and White, and Dream Battle.

The music draws heavily from the Touhou style, but the notes still work in the familiar Friday Night Funkin’ format.

Watch the arrow symbols as they rise toward the targets. Press the matching key when each note reaches the correct position. Missing too many notes eventually ends the song.

Continue Through Three Weeks

Week 2 adds four more tracks: Casket of Star, Oriental Dark Flight, Magus Night, and Master Spark.

Week 3 moves the battles above the Moon and contains The Sea, Pure Furies, and Pandemonic Planet.

That brings the main set to eleven songs across the three weeks.

The growing playlist gives you time to become comfortable with the earlier charts before reaching later patterns. Players familiar with Touhou may also recognize musical ideas and character references as they move through the weeks.

Choose Story Mode or Individual Songs

The mod supports the usual rhythm-game structure where you can work through the weeks as a sequence or select songs through Free Play.

Story Mode gives the music a stronger sense of progression. Free Play works better when you want to retry one difficult track without repeating everything before it.

FNF’ X Touhou 2 keeps the crossover easy to understand. It does not turn FNF into a bullet-hell shooter. Instead, it brings Touhou characters and music into the rhythm format.

Keep track of the arrows, learn the faster note patterns, and work through all three weeks as Boyfriend and Girlfriend continue their strange musical journey through Gensokyo.
